The rose is an ancient flower, fossils of a rose were found in Florissant Fossil Beds in Florissant, Colorado and dated to around 35 million years old. A timeless flower, the rose is a symbol of powerful emotions, love, passion, grace, power and admiration are just to name a few, they are the perfect way to show our strongest feelings and desires. Roses have played a major role in poetry, religion, art, literature, music, medicine, fashion design, perfume, and even in cuisine.
In the world full of many flowers, the rose is considered as the symbol of love. When I found these dusty lavender amnesia roses, I couldn’t wait to start painting them. The amnesia rose is a flower celebrated for its vintage and romantic charm with their soft mix of pink and lavender hues, the color of the amnesia rose is timeless and elegant but not extravagantly showy. After painting these large amnesia rose blooms, I found that they symbolize enchantment and falling in love at first sight. To me, love at first sight is an enchantment and became the perfect title for this painting.
