This painting is from my "Beauty" series. This series consists of colorful and vibrant rainbow roses; these roses may look like they came straight from a fairytale, but these blooms are real. They start off as white roses and the stem is spliced and inserted into different colored dyes. To me, they represent a juxtaposition of real life in this case imitating imagination.
Rainbows have many symbolic meanings, such as, hope, good luck, new beginnings, promise, equality, enchantment and peace to name a few. With all the challenges the world has been facing over the last few years, I wanted to paint a collection of paintings inspiring us as human, a collective group inhabiting this amazing planet of ours, to being our lives renewed. With messages of hope, new beginnings, equality and especially right now, peace.
