This rose paintings is one of my favorites. I think it is because it reminds me of a worn penny. As a kid you are thrilled to find a penny on the ground; whereas adults will pass them by because they are worthless. I love to remember and also see a child’s eyes light up as they bend down to pick up their new treasure. “Worn Penny” reminds me of these beautiful moments.
