In Gentle Becoming, a green carnation opens in soft layers of dusty celadon, sage, and pale green. I was drawn to this stage of the bloom, when the petals curl inward and everything feels quiet and intentional, like the flower is in no hurry to reveal itself. Green carnations are often associated with renewal and resilience, and that idea stayed with me throughout the painting process.
This piece is a reminder that growth doesn’t always arrive loudly or all at once. Sometimes it unfolds slowly, almost unnoticed. Set against a cool gray-blue background, the bloom holds a subtle glow, highlighting the gentle strength that lives in nature’s most understated moments.
