Bold Color, Shine & Creative Expression
A 2-Day Mini Camp
👧👦 Ages: 7–15 Projects naturally adapt to a wide range of skill levels.
⏰ Schedule: Wednesday, July 8 – Thursday, July 9 12:30–3:30 PM each day
📍 Location: Studio #200, Mainframe Studios 900 Keo Way, Des Moines
Park in the South Lot, to the right of the building and enter through the front doors.
💲 Cost: $150 All materials included
Get ready for two days of bold color, sparkle, and creative energy. In Disco Camp, young artists will explore rhythm, pattern, and movement through eye-catching materials and high-impact projects that feel playful, expressive, and totally unique. This camp is all about experimenting with color, shine, and unexpected surfaces while creating artwork that feels exciting and personal.
✨ Projects
Disco Ball Painting
Students will paint a vibrant disco ball on a circular surface, exploring color mixing, light, shadow, and movement. Inspired by real disco balls and colorful reflections, each piece will be full of personality and energy.
Painted Vinyl Record or Mirror Art (Student Choice)
Students will choose between:
- Painting on vintage vinyl records or
- Painting on round mirrors
Both options encourage artists to think creatively about reflective surfaces, negative space, and design. Finished pieces make striking wall art.
🖌 Creative Flexibility
Camp projects are designed with choice and flexibility in mind.
If your child prefers to draw an image with a disco ball with pencils or colored pencils, they are welcome to approach the projects in drawing-based way. Students are encouraged to explore materials in the way that feels most exciting and comfortable for them.
