Beyond Green Paintings

Beyond Green began during my three week artist residency at Whiterock Conservancy, where I found myself surrounded by miles of prairie, woodland, and open sky. While painting outdoors, I realized I wasn't interested in recreating the landscape exactly as I saw it, I wanted to paint how it felt.

Instead of relying on expected greens, I began experimenting with unexpected color. Warm pinks, glowing oranges, deep violets, and brilliant blues became a way to express light, memory, movement, and emotion rather than literal appearance.

This collection is an invitation to look beyond what we expect a landscape to be. Nature is never just green. It shifts with the seasons, the weather, the time of day, and our own memories. Beyond Green celebrates that ever-changing experience and encourages us to see familiar places with fresh eyes.
