Painting Size 24”x 30” x 1.5"
Framed Size
Framed in black floater frame
In Her Own Time captures the vibrant energy of an iris in full bloom. Brilliant pinks, purples, and flashes of warm orange glow against the nearly black background, giving the petals an almost electric quality. The twisting, overlapping petals create a sense of movement, as though the flower is still unfolding.
This painting took nearly nine months to complete, developing slowly through layer after layer of oil paint. Some areas required more patience than others, and rather than rushing the process, I allowed the painting to evolve at its own pace.
The title In Her Own Time reflects both the natural rhythm of a flower coming into bloom and the time spent bringing this particular iris to life. There is beauty in allowing things to unfold when they are ready, and sometimes the most striking results are worth waiting for.
Oil on canvas, painting continues around the edges. The signature is wood burned on the right side of the black wood frame. The piece is wired and ready to hang. Keep out of direct sunlight to preserve its vibrant hues.
