During my residency at Whiterock Conservancy, we only came across the cows once, but they left quite an impression. We stopped along the path to watch them, and they would lift their heads to look back at us for a moment before going right back to grazing. That quiet exchange made me smile.
This painting is my playful interpretation of that memory. I wasn't trying to paint the pasture exactly as it appeared. Instead, I filled it with bold, unexpected color to capture the joy of that simple encounter. Sometimes the most memorable moments aren't the ones you plan, they're the ones that make you pause, smile, and then continue on your way.
