Quiet Companion

During one of our early morning rides through Whiterock Conservancy, we came upon a pasture of cows. They immediately caught our attention, but what I remember most is how interested they seemed in us. They stood quietly watching as we watched them, creating one of those small, memorable moments that makes you smile long after it's over.
When I painted this scene, I wanted to capture that feeling of quiet curiosity. The colors are playful, but the memory is genuine, a reminder that some of my favorite moments during the residency came from slowing down and enjoying whatever I happened to find along the way.
Beyond Green is a series inspired by my artist residency at Whiterock Conservancy, where I explored the Iowa landscape through unexpected color.
