I found this view completely by accident. While riding through Whiterock Conservancy in a utility vehicle to explore more of the property, I happened to glance over my shoulder. Looking back, I was greeted by a landscape that made me stop and take it all in.
That unexpected moment became the inspiration for Wild Chroma. I wanted to capture the excitement of discovering beauty where I wasn't expecting it. By pushing the colors beyond reality, I could hold onto that first impression, the feeling of turning around and being surprised by the landscape in front of me.
Beyond Green is a series inspired by my artist residency at Whiterock Conservancy, where I explored the Iowa landscape through unexpected color.
